Pete and the Pirates are an indie rock band from Reading, formed in 2002. The band consists of lead singer Tommy Sanders, bass player Peter Cattermoul, guitar player David Thorpe, drummer Jonny Sanders and singer/guitarist Peter Hefferan.

The guys play a joyful mix of smooth edged punk and pop with a twist of early-'80s post-punk. Pete and the Pirates is often compared to compatriots Mystery Jets and indie soul band Hefner.

After releasing two EP's ('Get Even' and 'Wait Stop Begin') Pete and the Pirates' debut album 'Little Death' came out on the Stolen Recordings label in 2008. The twelve tracks on the album are produced by Gareth Parton, who also produced songs for The Killers, The Go! Team and The Futureheads a.o.
